Headaches and Pain Cost $61 Billion a Year in Lost Productivity
The Cost of Employee Pain and How it Affects Productivity
A decrease in worker productivity means a loss to business profitability, and a year-long study has shown that 53% of workers had joint pain while at work, whether that’s lower back, shoulder, neck, or knee pain. About 13% of those employees reported a loss in productivity, with an estimated loss of 4.5 hours per employee per week due to pain.
What does this mean to the bottom line? A recent study found that productivity loss from common pain costs American businesses $61.2 billion annually. Most pain-related losses occur while employees are at work rather than because they are absent. That’s at least $440 in lost time per worker per year.
Using a random sample of nearly 30,000 working adults in the United States, researchers found more than half reported having headaches, back pain, arthritis, or other muscle/joint pain in the previous two weeks. 12.7 percent of the workforce said they lost productive time in two weeks due to these common pain conditions; 7.2 percent lost two hours per week or more.
“Companies are often blind to the actual cost associated with minor aches and pains such as headaches or back pain, says Lawrence Shaw, CEO of HART Health. “It isn’t just an hourly wage you have to pay when an employee struggles to get through the workday with a headache; it is the value of what they could produce.”
“The cost of providing high-quality commercial grade first aid supplies is only pennies per day per employee, says Shaw. “Larger companies get huge returns on the cost of supplies. Luckily, more companies have understood the actual price of employees who can’t treat joint pains and aches while on the job and are providing the needed supplies to keep employees productive and happy.
The solution? Make sure you have a supply of HART Health’s Over-The-Counter (OTC) pain reliever to keep workers both comfortable and productive.
Proprinal® – As Effective as Advil® Liqui-Gels®
That’s right. You can help your bottom line in two ways with Proprinal® – increase productivity while spending less to do so, which makes a great return on your OTC medicine investment.
HART Health’s Proprinal® Softgels come in the exact dosage of ibuprofen as the name brand, and the individual dose packaging provides a quick, clean and convenient way to provide workplace pain relief.
Like the name brand, HART provides full disclosure labeling (meeting all FDA requirements) in contamination-free unit dose packets, which means each unit dose has detailed product information printed on its packet. This information includes dosage, warning, lot number, expiration date, and ingredient strengths to ensure your employee has complete information.
Proprinal® is manufactured to meet FDA’s exacting specifications, and like the name brand liquid-gels, they take effect quickly to help keep workers pain-free and their productivity high.
While your employees are busy being productive, you have peace-of-mind knowing that you provided the best and safest pain-relieving product available, at a substantially lower cost.
The Ultimate in Convenience
HART’s medium and small-sized Industrial Pack boxes are designed to fit in and dispense from all existing route service and unit-type first aid kits. The individual packets can also be dispensed from most vending machines or kept conveniently.
